You have excellent target detection for near and far range from 20 feet to 96 nautical miles, even in fog or rain. The narrow horizontal beam provides a high resolution image and the high peaks of the antenna detect weak targets at a distance. This radar gives you a clear overview of the coastline, other boats and the weather ahead, directly to your Garmin plotter. You have consistency in the position of the targets and excellent separation that helps you separate the large targets from the smaller ones and adjustable rotation speed for fast screen refresh.

MotionScope Doppler technology

The GMR Fantom uses the Doppler effect to detect and detect moving targets to help you avoid collisions, find flocks of birds, and detect changes in weather. The Doppler effect is the frequency shift in the radar signal due to the relative motion of the target. This allows the immediate detection of any target moving towards or away from the radar. MotionScope detects moving targets on the radar screen so you can navigate around other boats or in bad weather or to fishing grounds where birds feed on the surface of the water.

Echo Trails

A historical path stays on your screen to help you easily and quickly identify moving targets and potential collision threats. The tracks are corrected according to the direction of your boat when the autopilot or a direction sensor is connected to your Garmin network.

Auto Bird Gain

Where there are birds on the surface of the water, there are fish below. Auto Bird Gain helps you find flocks of birds on the surface of the water where fish are most likely to be found.

Dynamic Auto Gain and Sea Filter settings

Dynamic Auto Gain automatically adjusts to your environment for optimal performance in all conditions, while Dynamic Sea Filter automatically adjusts the coverage to changes in sea conditions with user options for low, medium or high filtering.

Target size

You can increase the size of the targets on the screen to differentiate them from the noise or reduce the size to sharpen the shoreline details.

Double range with radar overlay on the map

The radar antenna has the ability to display a dual image on your plotter, side-by-side, with independent range settings and manipulations for both short-distance and long-distance projection. Different ranges can be displayed as a map overlay. For best results it is recommended to use autopilot or direction sensor.

Monitoring of MARPA objectives

The MARPA function monitors up to 10 selected targets and helps you monitor other vessels to avoid a collision.

Allows each display unit on board to select data from one of two different radar sources.

Easy to understand

Variable VRM range indicators and EBL electronic sight lines allow you to quickly measure distance and sight on other boats and on land. Adjusts the selected radar range to the vertical dimension of your screen to show more radar returns from in front of the screen and make it easier for you to understand target distances.
