The IC-GM1600E transceiver meets the GMDSS requirements as defined by the international SOLAS organization for commercial ships on international voyages.

The IC-GM1600E has also been certified with a “wheel mark” (Marine Equipment Directive which is required by the European Union for commercial ships).

The IC-GM1600E has passed rigorous environmental testing and quality assurance procedures.

The IC-GM1600E meets the requirements of temperature, thermal shock, vibration and drops (from a height of 1 m).

After passing these environmental tests, the IC-GM1600E has an IPX7 waterproof construction (1m water depth for 30 minutes) as defined by IMO resolution MSC.149(77) and other relevant regulations.

The IC-GM1600E transceiver is designed to provide reliable operation and long-term durability in harsh marine environments.

Low temperature lithium battery

For survival boat use, the optional lithium battery

BP-234 (non-rechargeable) 3300 mAh provides more than 8 hours* of operating time even at –20°C. Tx:Rx:Standby=6:6:48.

Wide viewing angle LCD screen

The wide-viewing-angle, high-intensity LCD screen offers extremely clear and easy-to-read characters.

The LED light clearly shows the operating status.

Large keyboard

Large keys and buttons provide a tactile feel for efficient operation.
