Description
IC-A220 TSO
High visibility OLED screen
OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) emits light by itself, so no display backlight is required.
It provides higher contrast, a wider viewing angle of nearly 180 degrees and a faster response time than a conventional LCD screen.
The operating frequency characters can be maximized on the screen, while the operating status can be displayed both on the top and bottom of the screen.
Big buttons
The IC-A220 has large buttons on the front.
The most commonly used FLIP-FLOP (frequency switching) button is designed large enough to be easily pressed.
All buttons are illuminated with pure white backlights that are the same color as the OLED screen.
TSO/ETSO certification
The IC-A220 TSO version can be used as a primary VHF radio in aircraft.
The IC-A220 TSO version is also accepted as an ETSO wireless under the TSO/ETSO mutual acceptance policy.
Auto Squelch function
Mute sensitivity automatically adjusts according to noise level to eliminate distracting background noise and unwanted signals.
Quick gag adjustment
Auto and manual muting, including muting level, are easily accessible with the volume button. The squelch test function temporarily opens the squelch and allows you to monitor signals.
External lighting dimmer control
By connecting to an external lighting dimmer, it can be linked to the aircraft’s lighting level. External dimmer control can be used on 13.8 V or 27.5 V electrical systems.
Intercom function
The IC-A220 has a built-in voice-activated intercom function that allows the pilot to talk to the co-pilot through the handset. The IC-A220 has adjustable volume and mute control functions.
Memory channels
The IC-A220 has 20 memory channels and 20 history memory channels. Frequently used memory channels can be instantly recalled.
Group memory channels are organized into 10 channels per 5 groups (total 50 channels).
The weather channel scan function searches for weather signals.
8.33kHz channel step spacing
The IC-A220 allows switching between 8.33kHz and 25kHz frequency steps in menu mode.
Remote control capability
You can remotely control the buttons
FLIP-FLOP (frequency swapping), intercom and recall through the jack on the back of the radio.
9V power supply operation
As required by TSO specifications, the transceiver continues to operate if the supply voltage drops.
