Compact and lightweight
The IC-M85E is the world’s most compact (WxHxD: 56 × 92 × 36.2 mm) and light (weight: 281 g (with BP-294, FA-SC58V and MBB-3) hybrid transceiver).
Covers PMR frequency 136–174 MHz
In addition to marine VHF channels, the IC-M85E covers PMR channels 136–174 MHz. Up to 100 programmable channels are available for PMR use.
Each channel is programmable with CTCSS tone and DTCS.
Powerful 700 mW sound
The IC-M85E uses a BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier that doubles the audio output.
Its internal speaker provides a powerful 700mW sound output with clear sound.
Private Chat
The transceiver has a built-in Voice Scrambler and provides private communication between stations (32-code, compatible with UT-112 Voice Scrambler Unit).
Automatic emergency alarm
The IC-M85E has three emergency-related functions: MOB, Man Down and Lone Worker alarm functions. If one of these functions is activated, the transceiver automatically activates an emergency alarm.
Direct operation with multi-function button
Changing the channel group (nautical ⇔ PMR) or the Scrambler ON/OFF function can be assigned to the multi-function button on the top side of the transceiver.
IP67 and MIL-STD rugged construction
The IC-M85E is durable and built to withstand 1m submersion for 30 minutes as well as dust protection. The transceiver also meets MIL-STD-810 specifications.
