The GM800 meets the GMDSS requirements as defined by the international organization SOLAS for commercial ships on international voyages.
The GM800 has also been certified with a “wheel mark” (Marine Equipment Directive which is required by the European Union for commercial ships).

The GM800 has a dedicated DSC receiver which continuously monitors CH 70 and is independent of the main receiver or other functions.
The Multi-task DSC function allows to display up to 7 received and
broadcast DSC messages.
A total of 100 MMSIs for DSC calls can be stored under a 10-character identifier name.
