Description

The Blue Smart IP22 Charger is the new professional battery charger with integrated Bluetooth. The Blue Smart IP22 Charger can be used on devices in your workshop and in motor vehicles such as (classic) cars, motorcycles, boats and caravans or camper vans.

Bluetooth Smart
The wireless solution to monitor voltage and current, change settings and update your charger when it’s new
functions become available.

High performance
With up to 94% efficiency, these chargers produce up to four times less heat compared to the industry
role model.
And once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to 0.5 watts, about five to ten times better than
the industry standard.
6-stage adaptive charging algorithm: test – volume – absorb – repair – float – store
The Blue Smart Charger features a microprocessor-controlled “adaptive” battery management. The adaptive
The function will automatically optimize the charging process according to how the battery is used.
Fully programmable charging algorithm
Absorption, flotation and storage voltages as well as Recondition setting and temperature compensation
The value can be programmed with the Bluetooth app.
After activating the Expert mode, the application allows changing almost all parameters and time limits used by
charging algorithm.
Storage mode: less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use
The storage mode is activated whenever the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. At the warehouse
The operating float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimize outgassing and corrosion
positive plates. Once a week the voltage is increased back to the absorption level to “balance” the battery. This feature
prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphurisation, which are the main causes of early battery failure.
It also charges Li-ion batteries
Li-ion batteries are charged with a simple volume-absorption-float algorithm.
Fully discharged battery recovery mode
It will start charging even if the battery is discharged to zero volts.
It will reconnect to a fully discharged Li-ion battery with an internal disconnect function.
NIGHT and LOW setting
When in NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to maximum. 50 % of rated output and charger
it will be completely silent. The NIGHT mode is automatically terminated after 8 hours. LOW mode can be terminated
manually.
Protected against overheating
The output current will decrease as the temperature increases up to 50 °C, but the Blue Smart Charger will not fail.
Eleven LEDs for status indication
Charging algorithm: TEST / BULK / ABSORPTION / RECONDITION / FLOAT / STORAGE / READY.
MODE button for setting: NORMAL (14.4 V) / HIGH (14.7 V) / RECONDITION / LI-ION.
Forty cycle history archive
The history screen contains usage history data over the lifetime of the charger and detailed statistics for the last 40
charge cycles.
VE.Smart Networking
The VE.Smart Network is a wireless device-to-device (D2D) communication network between Victron products,
using Bluetooth Smart.
Optional battery voltage and temperature compensation and current sensing
The VE.Smart network opens up the possibility of optimizing the charging process: a Smart Battery Sense, Smart
The battery monitor or a SmartShunt can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature to one or more
Battery Chargers. A Smart Battery Monitor or SmartShunt will also communicate battery current.
Synchronized parallel charging
Synchronize up to ten battery chargers in a VE.Smart network to have them charge a battery as if it were one
large charger. The chargers will synchronize the charging algorithm with each other. They will change at the same time
from one state of charge to another, for example from bulk to absorption.
Synchronized parallel charging has several interesting advantages:
– Redundancy: if one charger stops for any reason, the other chargers will continue to work.
– Flexibility: simply add a charger to the network if more power is needed.
– Cost: several low power chargers will generally cost less than a high power charger.
– Installation: several low-power chargers may fit more easily in a limited space.
